My New Beginning Memory takes me back to January 26, 2008 when I’d attended my first All India Friends of Max meeting in Bangalore. I was amazed at the number of people who’d come together to share and learn. I had an idea of what to expect, but was moved beyond words as I sat and listened. I thought of what I was told, about The Max Foundation, the Friends of Max and above all Amma, Ayeshah, Beena, Sharon & Ashok. I wondered what it would be like to be able to, actively, participate in this journey of a person’s life from fear or despair to hope and a new beginning.
I moved from Bangalore to Bombay in November 2008 and didn’t want to go back to my corporate job. Amma said I could volunteer with The Max Foundation and thus started my relationship with them. Today, this is my full time job and I know no words to express what it feels like to be doing what I’m doing, being a part of something that promises hope and new beginnings.
